Description

With the inaugural 1997 vintage, the Nicolás Catena ZapataIt became the first luxury cuvée from Argentina to be exported to the entire world. This wine recreates the “Original Cut of Bordeaux”, when during the 18th and 19th centuries, Malbec predominated over Merlot and was on equal footing with Cabernet Sauvignon, in the Médoc area. The pre-phylloxera mass selections of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, from ungrafted vines, give rise to this wine, which transports us to the past from the mountain vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina.
