Description

Fortuna Terrae - "Luck of Earth" in Latin - refers to the "lucky" vines of this small plot of the vineyard Adrianna. In fact, the deep clay soils of this sector house a large number of native pastures that prevent erosion, attracting beneficial insects, singing birds and mountain foxes. Due to the freshness of deep soils and height, Fortuna Terrae wines have optimal acidity and delicate aromas to flowers. It is convenient to enjoy this wine after some years or decades after the year of harvest. Catena Zapata Adrianna Malbec Fortuna Terrae from Catena Zapata

Tasting Notes and Pairing

Color: Intense pillory red with violet nuances, deep and dark, reflecting its concentration. The Adrianna Vineyard Fortuna Terrae Malbec, with its elegance, freshness and complexity, is ideal for rich and structured dishes: red meat: perfect with cuts like chorizo dike, flip eye or grill roast, where velvety tannins and mature fruit complement the intensity of the meat. Hunting meats: deer, wild boar or deer, which harmonize with their spicy and earthly notes. Lamb: Baked lamb ribs with herbs or a tagine with plums, highlighting the floral and spice of wine notes. Hard and cured cheeses: Parmesano, Gouda Añejo or Reggianito, which combine with oak nuances and minerality. Dishes with intense sauces: risotto of fungi with truffle, meats with red or pepper wine sauce, or pastes with ragú, where fresh acidity balances the richness of the plate. Grillad or roast vegetables: eggplants, peppers or zucchini, which complement the freshness and herbal notes of the wine. Bitter chocolate: desserts with high quality chocolate or a fondant, which highlight cocoa nuances and spices of the Malbec. Aroma: very aromatic and expressive, with notes of ripe black fruits (blackberries, plums, cherries), purple flowers (lavender, violets), mountain herbs (thyme, oregano, mint), spices (pepper, nail) and a mineral touch of wet stones and graphite. French oak aging provides vanilla, tobacco and chocolate nuances. Taste: In the mouth it is elegant, round and balanced, with a juicy entrance and a fresh acidity that brings vivacity. The tannins are fine, velvety and well integrated, with a rich and concentrated texture. It presents a long, mineral and vibrant final, with notes of black fruits, spices and a calcareous touch.
