Weinert Bodega y Cavas
About Weinert Bodega y Cavas
Bodega & Cavas de Weinert was founded in 1975 in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza by the Brazilian of German origin Don Bernardo Weinert, who, fascinated by the world of wines, decided to set up his own winery in Argentina with an unconditional philosophy: to produce high quality wines. Before embarking on such a task, he made an extensive study of Mendoza: its climate, soil and vines; and found in Luján de Cuyo the ideal place for his venture. After an arduous restoration process in the building acquired in 1974, he brought the latest winemaking technology of that time and joined forces with Raúl de la Mota, known worldwide as the father of modern viticulture and also named the best winemaker of the 20th century in Argentina. In 1996, Swiss-born winemaker Hubert Weber joined the winery, who at only 27 became the main winemaker at Bodega & Cavas de Weinert to the present. Don Bernardo Weinert is a man whose business philosophy is very simple: "as long as you have your own philosophy and maintain it over the years, you will be on the right track.
