Currently a little handful of winemakers of the Calchaquí Valley produces wines at the limit of which grapes can be grown.These vineyards are located in extremely isolated places, which makes time, resources and maintenance costs of the vineyards a challenge even for the most passionate winemaker. However, the superior quality of the produced wines justifies the effort, since the extreme temperature variations, the highest levels of solar radiation and the long period of maturation result in highly concentrated and complex wine.​
