Finca & Bodega Arca Yaco
About Finca & Bodega Arca Yaco
Arca Yaco is located at 2100 meters above sea level, with predominantly calcareous soils and through which fresh water from melting snow and high-quality springs flows. Its history dates back to 1996, the year in which the family of Matías Etchart, its creator, sold the Etchart Winery founded by his grandfather Arnaldo Benito Etchart in the 1930s to a French group. At that time, Matías Etchart, today the head of Bodega Arca Yaco, was 24 years old and since then he already knew that he wanted to continue with this activity that since he was a child has always given him pleasure and joy. In 2010 and after several years of traveling through the Calchaquí valleys looking for a place to settle and start his own project, he acquired the Finca “Arca Yaco” in the Quebrada de San Lucas, Calchaquíes Valleys. In 2015 it received the first harvest and in a short time its wines achieved recognition and good reviews, placing its wines among the most outstanding in Argentina by journalists, sommeliers and critics in general. Arca Yaco is truly a boutique winery in which its owner and winemaker is involved in all the tasks of the winery: production, aging, bottling, sales, communication and much more.
