Description
This line of limited batches of signature wines is only made in exceptional years, when the harvest offers unique characteristics that inspire the creation of an exclusive blend. The first vintage, Henry Gran Guarda N°1, was produced in 1990, marking the beginning of a unique collection of vertical vintages that has become an emblem of great Argentine wines.
Tasting notes & pairing
Aging: 18-24 months in new French oak barrels + 12 months in bottle before going on the market. Color: Intense dark red, almost black, with violet or deep ruby reflections. Aromas: Complex and evolved — ripe red/black fruits (cherry, plum, blackberry, jams), fresh herbs, spices (pepper), vanilla, chocolate, light smoke, tobacco and leather notes over time. In the mouth: Structured, voluminous, firm but ripe and silky tannins, great concentration, juicy, with good acidity that gives freshness and a long, elegant and persistent finish. Powerful but refined, with excellent balance. Ideal pairing: Intense red meats (roast, chorizo steak, lamb), game, mushroom dishes, aged hard cheeses or cuisine with complex spices. Perfect for special occasions.
