Description
It is the winery's icon wine, made with Malbec from pre-phylloxera vineyards planted in 1932, on 1.5 hectares in Valle Azul, Río Negro. It is harvested by hand, with spontaneous fermentation in open French oak vats and aging in oak barrels (15% new) for 18-22 months. This wine reflects the winery's philosophy: to express the Patagonian terroir with minimal intervention, highlighting the purity and elegance of the fruit. It is a limited edition red wine, considered one of the best Malbecs in Argentina.
Tasting notes & pairing
Color: Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Aroma: Intense and complex, with notes of violets, black cherries, blackberries, sweet spices (clove, cinnamon) and a mineral touch that evokes the Patagonian soil. The wood is well integrated, providing nuances of vanilla and cocoa. Pairing: Red meats: Ideal with a chorizo steak or roast Patagonian lamb, since its structure and tannins complement the intensity of the meat. Dishes with truffles or mushrooms: Its earthy and mineral profile harmonizes with mushroom risotto or pasta with truffle sauce. Hard cheeses: Combines well with cured cheeses such as Manchego or Pecorino, highlighting their complexity. Specific suggestion: A venison stew with spices to enhance the spicy and fruity notes of the wine. Taste: Elegant and structured, with silky tannins and vibrant acidity. In the mouth it is balanced, with intense fruit flavors, a touch of graphite and a long and persistent finish. Texture: Concentrated but respectful, with a refined palate that does not overwhelm.
