Viña Alicia
About Viña Alicia
Viña AliciaIt is a winery that combines the viticulturing tradition of its makers, with a privileged location to produce collectible wines. With more than 25 years of research and study to achieve "wines of excellence", in 1998 Alicia Mateu Arizu, wife of the renowned winemaker Alberto Arizu (alma mater of Luigi Bosca), together with the youngest of her three children, Rodrigo Arizu, began the marketing of the wines that bear her name. With "chateau" characteristics, the " Viña Alicia" winery is surrounded by a 10-hectare vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot grapes and some strains that are difficult to find in Argentina, such as Nebbiolo, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Albariño and Savagnin. Although the winery has a production capacity of 50,000 liters, it only sells 25,000 bottles of Viña Alicia, and 80,000 bottles of both Paso de Piedra, per year, all of which are exported to 14 countries. " Viña Alicia" today enjoys the prestige and international recognition of the most prominent personalities in the world of wine. Paso de Piedra Malbec from Viña Alicia
